Will Denny Grijalva be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for the destruction of Noh Mul?

The headline stories last week was about an attempt to change section fifty-three of the criminal code and our online poll dealt with that issue. There was a record number of persons who voted and shared their views on whether or not sodomy should be decriminalized. The result is as follows: a whopping two hundred and twenty-eight thousand one hundred and twelve votes were registered in our server. Fifty-one percent said no to the decriminalization of sodomy while forty-nine percent was in favour. But it will be the court to decide. Tonight’s question on another hot-button issue is: Do you think that Denny Grijalva will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for the destruction of Noh Mul? Yes or no. Send your comments and responses using your SMART phones to 8686 or post your vote on our e-poll at channel5belize.com. You can also send an email with your comments to questions@channel5belize.com.

  1. Lift up your head says:

I think Grijalva will be punished somewhat because the international community is watching, but not to the full extent of the law due to his political afiliation. People get away with murder in Belize.

  2. Whappy says:

Sure he will! As our anthem says “No tyrants shall linger, despost must flee this tranquil haven of democracy” !

  3. Storm says:

    That’s a good one, Whappy!

Voltaire said, “From time to time it’s necessary to hang an Admiral, in order to encourage the rest.” In that sense, Grijalva must be locked up for the maximum term, to serve as an example to the rest.

Grijalva has already become Belize’s pariah, will the PM or DPM or anyone dare to interfere with justice to save him? I pray not, but this is Belize, where justice has gone to die.

  4. m.price says:

The dumb Belize voters will still vote them in, if they do vote them out they will vote in the last thief they voted out, the PUP. Dumb people boy..smh

  5. tina says:

If a ten thousand dollar fine is the full extent of the law that is peanuts to the guy no doubt.

  6. Mae says:

Yes, he will. He has to be used as an example, and the ruling party needs to send a zero tolerance message. Besides, he is just a UDP hopeful; he has no official post.

  7. fools says:

nothing will happen to Grijalba, was GIV punished for illegal rosewood, was Gapi punished for giving his daughterinlaw the reserved island in Plasencia lagoon. this entire government is on one big hussle for the next 3 years and if we the people don’t stand up they will rob us into miserable poverty for generations to come. mark my words,

  8. Louisville,Ky says:

Naah, this is Belize. Danny boy is too well connected for him to feel the full extent of the law. When you are up there in that highfalutin circle, this too, will blow over, “like wahn lee breeze.”
    You better Belize that!

  9. JohnC says:

We don’t know if Denny Grijalva knew anything about the destruction of Noh Mul. He may own the company responsible, but that doesn’t mean he approved the illegal work, or is legally culpable.

  10. n@tur3l@dy says:

hmm hmm clears throat….. But of course not he wont be punished and certainly he wont be deprived of the privilege of a mining license…. come on ppls it Belize we living in

  11. Belizean Pride says:

seems we can’t judge him cause his the type like vega the hard working people, more than us, damn!! if i would be the pm i would happily strip him from his nationality and send him packing up his quetzales to guatemala but no gappi will just path the man on the back and say”u screwed panna, but I’ll help u no worry” soon this scandal will be left to go under the rug as usual with people who have strings attached to the politicians like gappi or barrow and the rest of the gov. in place.

  12. Liberty & Freedom says:

You are kidding, right! A symbolic slap on the wrist by Gappi. Nothing will be done except a lot of condemnations and rhetoric. The word will come down from Dean himself to just let it go away after the commotion goes away. I just hope the world does not forget such a despicable act by a baffoon and his master.

The Barrow administration has shown how disrespectful they can be to our past and present
it is to the point that it dose not matter any more. Our people are so use to getting the big finger by the illiterates of this administration. Bark all you want and Barrow cares two !@#$%.
This disrespect has made Belize and international disaster.
ass see on CNN, Univision, Telemundo, Here in the USA it is a big thing, Barrow should go in hiding and not show his face In the USA for he is a terrorist of the worst kind for allowing this to happen. deport that bastard, close his company and hold all those in the know responsible.
Belize we made it again, a new world see,

  16. Belizean Buay says:

I don’t think so, better yet, I know he won’t be. Our country has become a disgrace when it comes to punishing high ranks or highly political affiliated persons. So much is happening yet nothing is being done. Imagine La Roma football club is being fine hundreds of thousands of dollars for racial discrimination chants now here in Belize destruction of Belizean history is made and what ($10,000 bz) Gov’t does not see it this way but the world is watching and the impression they are giving is not the correct one. THIS CANNOT CONTINUE IN OUR COUNTRY. WE MUST LOVE AND TAKE CARE OF IT, NOT DESTROY IT.
