A brazen robbery late Saturday night has left the Executive Director for the National Women’s Commission, Ann-Marie Williams traumatized. According to Williams, she was returning to her house on Durgeon Drive in Coral Grove Area in Belize City around eleven p.m. following the Miss Y Pageant that was held at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts. But as she exited her vehicle, a dark grey 2003 Mazda Tribute, a vehicle stopped almost in front of her house and two men jumped out. The men, one wielding an object that almost resembled a baton, says Williams, approached her next to the vehicle in the drive way and one of them demanded that she handover the key for the vehicle. Both robbers wore hoods over their heads which prevented her from getting a good look at their faces. The club was held in an upward position which Williams believes would have been used to hit her with if she did not comply with their demands and as such handed over the key to her vehicle in fear of her life. She was also ordered to hand over her fifteen hundred dollar blackberry cell phone and her cash. Both assailants then got into her vehicle and drove away in it. Neighbors heard her scream for help and immediately called the police, who according to Williams immediately set up check points on both the Phillip Goldson and George Price Highways, but the fleeing robbers were not intercepted. At noon today, Williams’ SUV, valued at around sixteen thousand dollars, was found in Hattieville.

A curse for eroding what God has put in place
It’s tempting to speculate this was God’s way of punishing her for trying to support open homosexuality in the Jewel,m and to bring same-sex marriage here, even though the overwhelming majority of Belizeans seem to oppose those things. But I won’t do that.
If the crime actually occurred, and was not made up for some strange reason, I hope police solve it, recover her property, and punish the criminals. I just think it’s odd how she and Caleb Orozco both reported being attacked while their gay agenda cause was in the headlines.

How stupid can people be… There is no excuse for vandalism or crime…. You da thief you da thief… God is love and honesty… so to support a cause is not a crime… I dont understand why !@#$%^& thieves dont just get a normal job… work their @$$#$ and earn things… Belize Action and every1 else should stop and consider instead of wasting there times butting there noses where no one calls them to deal with this problem…. Louise Wade… Audrey Matura etc… etc… if you are so concerned about Belize and want to show that you care… talk and work on lowering the crime level, and murder rate instead of being the ones that are pushing it
@CUNBZ Then I would recommend you go and attend a church gathering and start to instill some values into your being! That is the only way to lower the crime rate. Not only the crime rate but also the immoral actions that “certain groups’ have on their agenda
