Multiple road traffic accidents in the country

The weekend may have been murder free, but it had its share of traffic accidents. We start with the early hours of Sunday morning in the south. At about three thirty Police were called to the junction of the Southern Highway and San Antonio Road where they found two men lying on the highway with leg and head injuries. Near them was a red motorcycle with extensive damages. About fifty feet from the men Police also observed a Toyota Corolla, extensively damaged with a man identified as Pedro Witz still behind the wheel. Preliminary investigations reveal that the two men, identified as Eluterio Coc and Eddie Lara, were travelling on Lara’s motorcycle from the dump area toward PG when the vehicle driven by Witz, travelling in the opposite direction, collided into them. Coc and Lara were taken to the PG Hospital and later transferred to the K.H.M.H.  by air, while Witz has been detained pending the outcome of the investigation. And in Blackman Eddy in the Cayo District, two men were reportedly also injured in a traffic accident on Saturday night. Details are sketchy because there has been no official report, but News Five understands that two men were travelling in a silver pickup truck toward Cayo when they suffered a blowout between miles fifty-seven and fifty-eight, crashed into a hill on the side of the road and flipped over. The men were transferred to the Western Regional Hospital in a BERT ambulance.

  1. Storm says:

The truck versus motorcycle crash occurred around 3:30 in the morning — I wonder what percentage of drivers on the roads are under the influence of alcohol at the time in the morning?

I don’t think I’ll stay up late enough to find that out first-hand.
