Well known chef and family busted with weed
A family of eight, including a well-known Belize City chef, appeared before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stewart this morning, where they were arraigned for possession of a controlled drug. Fifty-two year old Leila Marie Williams, her son, twenty-eight year old Mickalee Williams and her daughter, thirty-three year old Karen Adolphus, along with several others, were charged following the discovery of thirty-two and a half grams of cannabis inside their home on Raccoon Street Extension. The seizure was conducted by personnel attached to the Gang Suppression Unit. While charges were not withdrawn from his relatives when Mickalee owned up to possession of the drug, they were all granted bail in the sum of one thousand dollars each, plus one surety of the same amount. Mickalee, who was also granted bail, was later found to be in arrears with the court from a previous conviction. Records reveal that he owes ten thousand dollars for drug trafficking. By noon today his family was able to meet bail but he couldn’t and has been remanded. They are scheduled to reappear in court on June twenty-fourth.
Mickalee is one poor drug trafficker if he couldn’t come up with the money to pay his fine — that’s a cost of doing business, like taxes are for the rest of us!
The case shows the problem of permitting druggies to use your house, someday you might get swept up with them.
Good work, GSU. Keep it up.
The law must be changed. This archaic law of left over from the Limeys is ridiculous. Many people in Belize and all over the world smoke ganja, Its a substance that is natures gift , a blessed sacrament to all who partake. Yet we are discussing the unnatural act of anal sex in the supreme court and ganja, a natural substance , a gift from the ALMIGHTY is regarded by man made laws as illegal, destroying families. For what. Wake up Belize. Rise up. Hial Selasie I. Smoke up the herb and mellow out.
Moses X, the problem is that nothing actually gets done by people who smoke up the herb to mellow out.
