Homeowner cuffs burglar over the head

A burglary gone wrong has left one man with a headache and time behind bars at the Belize Central Prison.  Convicted burglar Nelson David White appeared in the court of Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer today after he was accused of unlawfully entering the home of Stanley Lizama located in the King’s Park area of Belize City. Lizama told Police that he was out, and as he returned home at around eleven-thirty a.m. on Sunday he saw white coming out of his yard with two bags. Lizama rushed to the back of his yard where he discovered that the door to his storeroom was damaged and assorted tools were missing. He then ran after White, hit him with a piece of board to the head and detained him until Police arrived on the scene. Today White was read a single count of burglary and was offered bail in the sum of four thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Late this afternoon he had still been unable to meet bail and if he cannot do so by the time the Court closes he will be remanded to the Belize Central Prison. While is a convicted burglar and is no stranger to the Police.

Good!!!! I wished I had that opportunity to do the same to the bastard who burglarized my home. Though I will not be surprised he will come out free despite being caught in the act!!

This is what we need in our country! Citizens taking care of our own since there is no protection and faith in the system worse so in our government these days. And we should take it even further since they will only send them to jail to relax for 3 months and back again doing the same thing to other innocent hard working people.

Convicted burglar already knows the system is too lenient and did not learn from the first time dats y he continues in the same pattern.

    Power to our people!

I’m with @Jackie and @Belizean First, and I nominate Mr. Lizama to be our Minister of National Security.

I’m starting to support forming vigilante committees in Belize to help the police catch and perhaps punish criminals, at least until the unacceptable level of violence and crime is GREATLY reduced. Citizens in many Mexican towns now are operating volunteer checkpoints and keeping control of their communities, far better than the police care to do.
