Wanted man known as Steel Bob is captured

Last week, Belmopan Police were flying high when they arrested four men who they believe are part of a criminal ring operating in the capital. These men, three fourth form students and the other said to be the leader of the gang, were charged for a brazen robbery at the University of Belize Belmopan Campus and for the murder of Salvadoran national Isabel Ballona and the attempted murder of another during a robbery at La Choza Bar. And while that success story took center stage, Belmopan Police are reporting another significant arrest which went under the radar. Jarod Arthurs Lamb, also known as Steel Bob, was apprehended during an operation in Camalote on June fourth. Lamb was wanted for the brutal beating of Seleni Osgalla at Rumours Resort in the Cayo District on April sixteenth. But Police say that they also have evidence linking him to the January murder of well-known Cayo businessman, Steven Valencia. Lamb was charged for Murder in the Valencia case and for Burglary and Attempted Murder in the Osgalla case when he was arraigned in the Belmopan Magistrate Court on the seventh of June. He has been remanded until the eighth of August.
