Foreign Affairs will help lay student to rest

Clarencio Coc

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working with their Taiwanese counterparts and the family of Clarencio Coc to bring the body of the twenty-six year old student home from Taiwan where he was killed Thursday night in a traffic accident. Coc, who has been on an academic scholarship since 2010, was on the back of a scooter driven by a Guatemalan student when they were hit by a vehicle right at the entrance of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. Today, Foreign Affairs C.E.O., Alexis Rosado, told News Five that they will do whatever is necessary to help the family to lay their loved one to rest.

“It was a very tragic accident that happened on Friday night, Taiwan time at about eight-thirty so. The student was on a motorcycle traveling back to school after a little function that he was attending with classmates. And when he was right close to his university, a vehicle came and apparently, it might have lost control or something, but the vehicle ran into the motorcycle which was being ridden by a colleague of his, a Guatemalan student, and both of them sadly passed away. Well we are working very closely with the funeral homes here in Belize and Taiwan to try and ensure that we do anything possible to get the body here to Belize in good time. We have been in touch with the family. We have tried to be as helpful as we possibly can. It is a tragic situation and very unfortunate; a young man with a very good future ahead of him, but sadly it was cut short. But we are doing everything we can to make sure we facilitate; we assist as much as possible the family.”

A post mortem examination is to have been conducted today, and it is hoped that the body will be in Belize by this weekend.

Sadly, Taiwan is like Belize. The same way the the Vega’s got away with causing the death of Luis Polanco and hurting 2 other employees of Windy Hill resort, http://archive.channel5belize.com/archives/64960 so will the person who caused this accident in Taiwan. Same corrupt system, people with money get away with serious crimes. RIP Clarencio, the time will come when the perpetrators of these crimes will answer to the almighty since we in this world could not make these people pay for their crimes here.
