Finnegan apologizes on radio but not to Dolores
The heat from last week Wednesday’s House meeting continues to permeate the televised newscasts and radio shows. The special sitting of the House was apparently convened to introduce a motion in the House records to embarrass the current Leader of the Opposition and the former Prime Minister. But instead of the chastisement of the P.U.P. taking the headlines, it has been the denouncement of the U.D.P.’s Mesopotamia Area Representative Michael Finnegan that has grabbed the attention of the public. Finnegan took offense to a statement by P.U.P. Rural Central’s Dolores Balderamos Garcia about the macebearer Brian “Yellow Man” Audinette. Though Finnegan said he would not apologize to Balderamos Garcia, he read a statement on KREM’s WUB Show this morning and circulated it later to the media. Finnegan apologizes to everyone, except Balderamos Garcia.

“I apologize to the general public and the citizens of this country. Secondly I need to apologize to the speaker of the house because things went so fast the speaker was in no way to control what was done. And thirdly I want to apologize to members on my side of the house and members on the other side of the house. I will give no other interview, no newspaper or no television station. This medium is where I use to bring this to finality and I hope that what the member from Belize Rural Central did and said about yellowman. That she saw him urinating in the confines of the National Assembly and drinking liquor in the confines of the National Assembly which I think was totally not true. I hope that she apologize to yellowman.”
News of Finnegan’s apology reached the desk of the Special Envoy for Women and Children, Kim Simplis Barrow. Barrow said that she welcomed the words of apology offered by Hon. Michael Finnegan this morning. She also pointed out the inaction by the Speaker of the House Michael Peyrefitte. She said, (quote) “I call on the Speaker that he will, in the future, be protective of the rights of all members, but especially the rights of the lone female member of the House of Representatives, not to be subjected to offensive language or gestures.” (Unquote) She went on to express her hope that all members of the House would demonstrate mutual respect to their colleagues. This evening, the Women Issues Network of Belize (WIN-Belize) says that it is very disturbed by the turn of events and that the remarks by Finnegan cut to the core of every woman. WIN-Belize points out to the government’s endorsement of women in politics saying that although there is a move to prepare women for political leadership, the institutionalized masculinity of politics remains the same. We’ll have more on this later on in the newscast.
Kudos to mrs barrow for showing political maturity and supporting a female member of the opposition. A real shame bout finnegan though cause him behave like pickney.

The man said he wasn’t using the bath out door and was neither drinking. He lied on both count! The real issue, is that he shouldn’t be in the House of Representative, and should be on half pay until he prove himself innocent in the courts. There is nothing to be apologize about! The pictures speak louder than words.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on the full throttle bottle, but anyone can see he is urinating on the truck. The position of his hands, the way his body is leaning into the truck, and most damning is if you look at the photo the wheel well is wet in the center where his pelvis area is, but dry on the sides and the tire is completely dry. A truck driving trough a puddle would not make that pattern. That pattern is made from urinating. Yellowman you are a liar and a public urinator. Maybe thats how he got the name Yellowman, because he urinates in public. You wanted proof, Forensics will get you every time.
Finnegan only “apologized” because his Daddy told him to. He never apologized to Delores. A TRUE MAN who own his words & take responsibility for them. What a neanderthal!

An sincere apology is one when it comes from the heart and NOT have someone force you to make an apology. And still you didnt apologize to the person u offended. On another note Mr. Finnegan the Honorable Dolores Balderamos Garcia need not apologize to yellowman, all she did was to mention Yellowman behavior which was inappropriate. What is so wrong with that? As to mr Audinnette, you need to conduct yourself with dignity show some respect. You portray urself exactly like Finnegan, but i cant blame you either becaz Finnegan is your example, your gestures, your expression of words, your body language is exactly as Finnegan. What are you telling the Belizean women of this beautiful jewel of ours. Your husband had to force him to apologize…..Please explain to us becaz i still cannot digest your acceptance much less that crappy piece of apology. Anybody who look at the picture of Brian above can know what he is doing, from the position of his body, head, hands, and the way he is using the vehicle as a shield for privacy. Why Finnegan should have insulted a learned attorney, and by extension the public and the integrity of the honorable house is beyond comprehension. Instead of the house having meaningful debate to help grow the economy of this country, we are having these side shows to detract us from the real issues affecting us. WE CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE. Get your act together and do meaning changes that will improve the lives of the peopled of Belize and not the rampant NEPOTISM we see masquerading as government for the people. You ask us for a JOB, then at least show us that you are trying to do the job for which you were elected.

Finnegan is not fit for public office. His apology is not real. He still want an apology for yellow man. Yellow man should not even be in the position he is in, did he not just beat someone up. This government is a thug government. Finnegan’s statement is an insult to all women whom have had to endure the sexism that exists in this government.
With all respect to the PM’s wife at the end of the day her husband still buys the butter for her bread. She may say empty words, the fact is her husband was present at this ugly performance and is therefore as guilty as Finnegan because he did NOTHING.
