Magistrate Hamilton also dealt with the case of a woman who works as a Data Entry Clerk. Jacqueline Bermudez, a resident of Ben Bow Street, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for one count of Wounding upon Shaquille Perrera and one count of Committing a Mischievous Act. In pleading guilty, she told the magistrate that the only reason she took that plea was because she has no one to bail her.  The magistrate explained that it was no reason to plead guilty and could therefore not accept her guilty plea. Bermudez told the magistrate that on Sunday, just after a carnival practice, she was going home with a cousin when Perrera approached her and accused her of having an affair with someone from the same block. She claimed he punched her in the face and that a struggle ensured. The Magistrate offered bail of five hundred dollars and Bermudez is due back in court on October seventeenth, 2013.
