Nineteen year old Javier Moody is tonight on life support following a traffic mishap sometime around two p.m. on Sunday on this curve in Sand Hill around mile sixteen on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Father, Leslie Moody, says he was in May Pen when he was notified that his eldest son was involved in an incident. After two surgeries, his liver and kidneys collapsed and he was placed on a ventilator.

“I was in May Pen when I got the call that my son was caught in an accident. I left from there and come straight to the hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, my son was still in the theatre room; when I came that was the second surgery that he was taking. Since then he is in the ICU unit and he is in a very critical condition up to this point. Last night at about nine o’clock I last see him and he is still sleeping from since then.”

Moody, it is said, was trying to overtake a vehicle when he lost control of the motorbike, which careened off the pavement and sent him and his girlfriend, Valorie Gariel, into a berry tree.

“She said that Javier was overtaking a vehicle and apparently the vehicle speeds up when he saw the motorbike overtaking and there was another vehicle coming in the opposite direction. And he decided to ease up. From there I don’t really understand what took place from there because if he ease up, then it should end up behind the vehicle that he was overtaking if ih slow down. But for some reason, ih lose control and she, his girlfriend, is not doing well either. She suffered a broken leg and a broken jaw, but she is more stable than Javier.”

Leslie says that the family is praying for his recovery, despite the prognosis being not good.

  1. Hatari says:

This is tragic and I feel sorry for the victims and families but you see these racing bikes speeding erratically everyday. No helmets and some pretty little girl clinging to the back. When will the police ever start enforcing the traffic laws?
