To recall or not to recall – much was said today but the truth is that all the talk may be nothing more than rhetoric. That’s because Penner also has the option to walk – with or without a little financial incentive. Prime Minister Barrow says that he’s heard the rumours, and if that’s the way it is, then so be it.

“There have been those suggestions that the other side is offering inducements to the honorable Penner to resign. I have asked him about that and he has said no. Earlier I indicated that one of the reasons why we do not wish the recall mechanism to succeed is because we want preserve our already slim majority. In that context it is a worry that perhaps Penner could go in consequence of that sort of an arrangement. I earnestly hope that it won’t prove to be so.”

That is one reason, but the other one is that if Penner is recalled, many others are on the edge of the cliff, who with a tiny nudge, because of their uncontrolled behavior in the past, could fall in as well.
The recall will probably work because people frustrated with having to wait long to change the govt. Penner should leave in a dignified way and no tek no bribe cause it will come to light and his children will never outlive the shame. The PM needs to reflect on how he has run the govt and country like an ostrich with his head buried in the sand. I feel ashamed of my useless govt which cause me poverty and actually makes the PUP look like the party of hope. I just hope Francis serious about fixing the country and get ready to be the next PM.
This feels like a movie. I wish I could fast forward and see what the people of Belize will do and how it will end. Or will it continue?
