Eric Chang to lose title and rank as deputy mayor

Eric Chang

By midday Thursday, Eric Chang will probably no longer be the Deputy Mayor of Belize City. That’s the word coming out of City Hall today. Chang had been given an ultimatum by the Council that he needed to let them know his position by last Friday. He did speak to the Mayor, but News Five has been told that he asked for a further two or three weeks. Mayor Darrell Bradley did not take kindly to that request and so a caucus meeting has been scheduled for Thursday morning. It is expected that at that meeting a new Deputy Mayor will be selected. Chang has been missing since early September, when he went to Taiwan on official business and then extended his stay for a vacation. He was due back in Belize on October third, but never showed. Chang’s name surfaced during the Wonhong Kim passport debacle, and there are probably questions which he would need to answer if he comes back to Belize. Speculation is that he is waiting for the outcry and scrutiny to die down.

Eric have absented himself and is watching from abroad how this whole scenario is playing out. He is not a fool, we are sure he is getting information from the internet and from other people with whom he is in contact. Guilty conscience need no accuser!

Paymaster seems to think this one will blow over. The tide of change is blowing in your face. Oh, right u are not here. Poor u, u think your crooked money will get u out of this one. Hey, that’s what got u here in the first place. Do yourself a favor and stay in Taiwan. I would suspect, based on their net international reserve, that their jails are better than ours.

Damn right he is waiting for the heat to die down…then he can just slip right back into the country unnoticed..his abscence stinks of guilt…Chang, if you have nothing to hide and are not guilty of any wrongdoings, show yourself…defend yourself instead you are running away like a coward…stand up and face the music…the Belizean people needs to know…like the saying goes, “a guilty conscience needs no accuser” …your own behaviour on the whole issue makes you seem guilty..

I am not a prejudiced person because I have so much mixed blood I would not know who to be against. I can now understand why in America a person of foreign birth is barred from running for the office of President of the US. Great that foreign born with US citizenship can serve in other parts of government where their harm could be minimal.

Were these two Penner and Chang Belizean born? Can someone post the answer please. Just trying to get the full picture.
