Carlos Beltran sentenced to 8 months for handling stolen goods

Carlos Beltran

A Belize City youth, who has been on remand since August for burglary, was sentenced to eight months imprisonment today. Carlos Beltran appeared in court this morning and changed his not guilty plea to guilty before Magistrate Leslie Hamilton.  Beltran was charged with burglary and handling stolen goods after the home of Eric Pott was burglarized on August twelfth 2013. Stolen were a number of items including, a television set, laptop and speaker.   While he changed his plea, Beltran told the court he did not steal the items, but that he was trying to help a friend by storing them.  Beltran’s guilty plea for handling stolen goods was accepted and the prosecutor withdrew the burglary charge. For the offense, Magistrate Hamilton imposed a custodial sentence of eight months beginning August fourteenth, when Beltran was initially remanded.

Aye Carlos….too bad you are not associated with Penner or any of the Elected ministers who seem to be above the law. But what can we except when both parties spend tons of money buying votes…PUP and UPD.. two parties full of corruption….we just keep elected the less corrupt one and when they come to power to top the previous one… Good Luck Carlos…too bad you made a wrong decision…hope you learn from it…
