Activist Patrick Menzies is detained briefly in Belmopan

Since October fifteen, Activist, Patrick Menzies, launched a campaign to gather support across the country asking parents not to send their children to school to send a clear message to the government. Menzies is fighting many battles, but primarily he want stop amendments to section forty-six of the criminal code as it pertains to children. He has made his way north to Orange Walk and Corozal and today, Menzies was in the Capital. While support in Corozal was not significant, today Menzies was flanked by approximately three hundred pastors and church leaders, parents and children from neighboring communities. He was initially detained by the police because he did not apply for the permit to have the gathering on Independence Hill. But despite that warning, Menzies got the group to sign declaration forms that any individual from any political party that violates the constitution by supporting an LGBT agenda. The declaration makes five demands including a retraction or freeze of the 2013 Revised Gender Policy and to keep intact the amendment of the criminal code as well as guarding the preamble of the constitution as it currently stands.

“There’s been four for the past few months but we’ve added a fifth. Number one, retract or freeze the gender policy whole you work on changing it. we believe the gender policy is about sixty to seventy percent god, but thirty percent of poison in any good food will kill you. So we are asking to hold off—because it is already being implemented. Number two, we believe and support the prime minister of Belize in what he said. We understand that he declared that gender is male and female only. We believe that. We do know that there is a proposition out there from a part of the church that is saying we want gender to be male and female within the context of society. We reject that…we don’t care if it came from church, we reject it.  Number three, stop the victimization on the part of both the private sector and the public sector. Discrimination actually means victimization. If you think I am discriminating against you, you will victimize me. If you check Facebook…these people who are LGBT, they can tell you all kinds of stuff. Last night dehn say oh dah good fi ahn. It is good that they tried to arrest the lady in Paraiso. Really if I would say that something happened to Caleb Orosco and I would say dah good fu ahn, I would be attacked. So in other words, the homosexuals or the LGBT agenda folks can denounce heterosexuals or normal people and nothing happens. But whenever a normal person; that god makes you normal—Adam and Eve; not Adam and Steve—when a normal person says something, ooh your discriminating so guess what we are going to victimize you; we are going to sue you. We are saying kill it; no victimization. The number four on the plan that we’ve always had is to keep the constitution, the preamble the way it is unless there is a national referendum that says we are changing our constitution. Number five is a newbie, we just added it because of the new amendments that were put forth. A part of that is basically saying that if you look at section forty-six it basically shows that actions by homosexuals or using the anus which the bible sees as an unnatural crime, which is one of our law that section fifty-three says. We are saying separate anus from normal sexual relations. Separate it from the other beucase they are not the same.”

According to Menzies they are also asking that the complete removal of section forty-seven-G-three of the proposed amendment to the criminal code which removes parent’s right’s over their children less than sixteen years old.

Keep the preamble as is? Nobody is suggesting any change to the preamble. Once again Menzies is flat out lying and using people who do not understand English to make himself feel important and relevant. Why does anyone pay attention to this snake oil salesman?
