Police look for a murder weapon in a grave in Lucky Strike
Yo Creek resident Jorge Blanco was brutally murdered as he drove home through Sand Hill at around midday last Friday. Blanco was with three other persons when he was shot in the head, as the delivery truck he was driving stopped at a speed-bump near the junction of the Maskall Road. The other men in the truck were Johann Penner and his sons Abraham and Gerhard; the owners of the business. They were robbed of nine thousand six dollars before the killers made their getaway. On Wednesday, three men were charged for Blanco’s murder – Alton Bailey, Roger Hernandez and Roger Middleton. A fourth man, Frank Elijio, was charged with robbery, handling stolen goods, conspiracy to commit robbery and drug trafficking. Over the weekend, Police with canine support searched Elijio’s property in Lucky Strike, which is about ten miles off the highway on the Maskall Road. They allegedly found two thousand three hundred dollars in Elijio’s truck. Today, the Police were back, and this time they were breaking open a grave on the property. Elijio’s girlfriend Karima Robinson was there, and says that the Police didn’t bother to explain what they intended to do. News Five got to the scene this afternoon, but Police refused to let us get close, and even refused to let Robinson speak to us. After we left we managed to contact Robinson by phone.
Via Phone: Karima Robinson, Girlfriend of Frank Robinson

We contacted Ladyville Police, but were unable to confirm if Police were looking for the murder weapon. We were told only that the investigation is ongoing. According to Robinson, Police did not find anything in the grave and left at around four. She told News Five that the money which was found in Frank Elijio’s truck on Saturday was money he got from his parents to fix the truck. She also claims that Elijio could not have been involved in the murder since they were together in the house when they heard the flash news last Friday. And if there’s any bright spot in all this…the Police did start repairing the damage they did to the grave, and promised to return to finish the job.
We need to be fair
Let us put ourselves in the shoes of Mr. Blanco’s family
The police officers are simply following up on leads received to try and solve the case….
We need to stop complain about every single thing that happens
I agree with Bzn, let the police do their job. it’s the only way they will start getting to the bottom of so many unsolved crimes in Belize,
Greeting’s to all…. However I “DO NOT” agree with BZN or RDS! My condolences to the Blanco Family, I hope they will find peace in the sudden death of their loved one. “RESPECT” is due; I have not problem with the police doing their job attempting to solve a murder but as Robinson stated if the grave looked untampered with the WEAPON is not there! That is extremely disrespectful the disturb the lady grave and not close it back properly once there was nothing discovered!!! That is SOOO DISRESPECT to the decease and her family; put yourself in their shoes, the decease didn’t do it and deserves to have respect at her final resting place. From what I see the one’s in authority in Belize abuses their power and they violate the civil rates of the citizens! Yes the find drugs in various yards etc but the don’t seem to have probable cause that would have allowed them to enter the yard/premises in the first place, so no matter what was found it should be thrown out of court b/c most of the time it is a” ILLEGAL” search!!! They treat the citizens of BELIZE just as bad if not WORST than slavery times.. They SUCK!!! DOn’t FRET GOD “THE MOST HIGH”‘ SEE’s ALL AND HE WILL judge accordingly!!!!. May his wrath come upon the wrong doers–meaning the one’s in authority and the wicked, heartless, uncompassionate citizens…
