P.U.P. Leader speaks on the fate of Cordel Hyde

Cordel Hyde, he is the former Lake Independence Area Rep under the P.U.P. Administration. Since then, Hyde has left the party and has been seen as a traitor to the P.U.P. But earlier this year, in August, there were rumors of the consideration of a possible return of Hyde to the People’s United Party; his seat was always considered a sure win until he stepped aside in 2012. So the executive of the P.U.P. met to discuss whether or not Hyde will be accepted back into the fold, however, there has been no word as to whether that will materialize. With rumblings of conventions in the near future, News Five today asked the party leader about the possibility of Hyde contesting and returning as standard bearer.

“No we haven’t set a date for any convention in Lake Independence. There is a constituency committee in Lake Independence at this point. That committee will meet and select a date for a constituency convention and a standard bearer convention, but that has not been done as yet.”

“The last time we spoke, a meeting with Cordel was in the works. Has anything gone forward with that?”

Francis Fonseca

“We have spoken, but the meeting that we talked about is a meeting that will take place not only with myself, but with other leaders in the party and we have not yet had that meeting.”
