Family awaits full analysis in hope that there is a connection with the tetanus shot and Sabrina’s death

What the family has been given at this point is just a preliminary report of the autopsy. Samples have been taken of different organs for further analysis. It is hoped that when that full analysis is complete, it will shed some light on a possible connection between the tetanus shot and Sabrina’s death just a week after. Almendarez maintains that his daughter was healthy and only started complaining of headaches and fever after the vaccination. He also says they are searching for answers and if those answers show that the Ministry of Health is somehow at fault, the lesson learned by his daughter’s tragic death might result in other lives being saved.

“While the family never came out and blamed the Ministry of Health for anything, there was a concern that the tetanus shot she received might have been connected to her subsequent death. Is that question still out there?”

“Certainly! Because it’s so strange that the left side of the body where those organs are damaged is the same side where she got the tetanus shot. Now if you get massive trauma for example to any organ, like the lungs for example which was also damaged from hemorrhage…the lungs are protected by a ribcage…something would have shown there…some sort of external trauma would have shown on the exterior of the body. Nothing is there. Not even Dr. Hugh Sanchez could explain that part. And so we did some research about the tetanus vaccination and it was concerned by the internet search…I checked with one doctor as well…and he did indicate that yes one of the things that the tetanus vaccination could do is lead to problems with the nervous system, and touching the nervous system means that you could have hemorrhaging inside but they are indicating that that is like one in a million. We were visited by a health official on Saturday, strangely and she was one of them who indicated that. That’s one in a million, but who knows, that one in a million could be my daughter. I don’t want any revenge. I am not here to bad-mouth the Ministry of Health. I just want to get closure, good closure with this. And it might mean the difference with saving another child’s life. I think basically what the Ministry needs to do is revisit their protocol on how they administer vaccinations because in this particular case my daughter mentioned that it was just creating a line in front of the classroom, marching into that room, getting the injection and you’re now. Now as far as I’m concerned if you’re administering these things one of the first things you tend to do is to make sure that they test to see if your body will tolerate…and that’s simply done by raising a part of the skin and injecting a little of that in there and if it spreads out your body will tolerate it…if it clots in there then your body would not tolerate it. That was not done. Nothing can bring my daughter back – nothing and no one. I am hurt, the family is still grieving…I have cried every day and all I want to see is if the Ministry was wrong or is wrong in the way they administered this vaccination, let’s try to fix it.”

As we told you, Sabrina will be laid to rest in Independence on Thursday. News Five has been informed that her classmates have refused to remove her chair from the classroom as a show of love for her.
