Where in the world is Elvin Penner?

Where in Belize is former Minister of State Elvin Penner? Nobody’s sure, because the man who was in the center of the passport scandal has gone to ground. We know that he is still receiving his salary as an Area Representative, in addition to approximately seven thousand dollars each month that should be used to assist his constituents. Penner is also still in possession of a government SUV. But apparently where the public pariah is now concerned, Christmas cheer has gone out the door. Today PM Barrow confirmed that Penner will not receive any money under that program. And as to his government ride…well, that might soon be yanked as well.

“With respect to Honorable Elvin Penner is getting nothing in terms of the Christmas Cheer, he is not able to submit as others are, to the Ministry of Human development, a single name. So please don’t let Lisa Shoman lead you astray in terms of her vote. With respect to the vehicle we had continued a tradition that your side started; where chairpersons of house committees are allowed ore are given a vehicle with access to a limited amount of fuel. As soon as Hulse, Hulse bwai, like you I have Hulse pan mi mind, just like you, but for different reasons. As soon as Penner cease to become, cease being a minister, the fuel allocation he no longer carried a ministerial trial card, he I given an allowance as the chair of the house committee, through the national assembly, which is certainly not open ended, which is limited. We are not certain as to what is going to happen to Penner in terms of his chairmanship of that particular committee. If perhaps that at the next meeting, and I am not saying this is the way it is going to be, if at the next meeting there is some sort of a change; which can only be done by the select committee of the house, and Penner is no longer a chair of the house committee, then he will no longer be able to drive a government vehicle.”
