Alrick Lamb sentenced to fifteen years for possession of firearm and ammo
An eighteen year old youth, Alrick Lamb, is serving his first night of a fifteen-year jail term after he pleaded guilty to possession of prohibited firearm, ammunition and an extended magazine. The items were found in a car in which as many as six occupants were travelling in. The men were busted by the GSU over the weekend; they all appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today. While Lamb took the rap, the five others still remain on remand. They are the driver of the vehicle, Richard Smith, Jihadul Gill, Everal Gray, Arthur Hill Junior and Delbert Alvarez. The group appeared before Magistrate Dale Cayetano and Smith was represented by attorney Bryan Neal. When Lamb pleaded guilty, Neal asked the court to withdraw the charges from the others but the Prosecutor told the court that he will wait a directive from the office of the D.P.P. Ivan Galvez, a GSU officer, reported that on Friday night while the Unit was conducting a patrol, they spotted the vehicle driven by Smith and signaled him to stop on Peter Seco Street. When the vehicle was searched they found the firearm and ammo. Lamb was sentenced to three-five years jail term to run concurrently which means he will serve five years instead of fifteen.
