Ras Indio back in Belize for upcoming concert in Orange Walk

Award winning Belizean reggae artist Ras Indio is recognized for his conscious music and prolific production. He is a composer, songwriter and singer who has travelled around the world and performed in many arenas. But now he’s back in Belize, and not surprisingly he’s got a new hit. Today the talented Belizean artist stopped by our studios after a trip to the US where he performed with other reggae superstars.

“Well you know Ras Indio always moving around the earth spreading positive vibes worldwide. Well I deh back ina Belize for the holiday period; I have to come and rest and see the family and be with the people that I love. Just come back from California performing alongside one of the legends of reggae, Junior Reid. We were celebrating King Selassie coronation, November second in Los Angeles California.”

“And in Belize, what are your movements now?”

“Well you know, happy to see my people, happy to be home…feel the love, the energy. We have a show coming up February eighth in Orange Walk Town. It is a tribute to Bob Marley. I want to big up Paula Dawson and Puma Ayuso for having this wonderful fundraising event. And I am truly blessed, ina all the years of traveling and performing, first time I’m going to perform in Orange Walk Town, so I’ll see you there.”

“Then I hear yo have wah new song…you just keep producing.”

“Well you know we can’t stop, music is my life. We did one recently which is basically pointing fingers at these youths who seem to forget that our country is so beautiful and precious and continue the senseless violence. So this song is called Wake Up.”
