George Street Associate remanded for attempted murder
Also in the courts, a well-known George Street associate is tonight on remand at the Belize Central Prison after he was accused of attempted murder. He is Brandon Tillett, aka “BT”, who is being accused of the attempted murder of nineteen year old Kevin Alvarez. This morning, Tillett appeared before the Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith and was read three criminal offenses: Attempted Murder, Grievous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm upon Alvarez. Alvarez was shot and injured on his left leg January twenty-third on George Street, not too far from where Tillett resides and hangs out. It is alleged that Tillett rode by on a bike fired as many as five shots in the direction of Alvarez hitting him on the leg. Tillett is due back in court on February twenty-seventh, 2014.
By then you will hear that the victim had amnesia and cannot identify who shot him. Then the “almost” killer will be free to try again, only this time he might be the “victim” instead. And around and around we go. Just like the political parties in this merry-go-round.
