The gripping story of the Peck family

Gabriel Roches

As we said earlier, Gino Peck will be sentenced on Friday morning for ammunition charges. On the eve of his sentencing, his wife, Loretta, made a compelling case on his behalf on Open Your Eyes. His son, Gabriel Roches, touched many when he spoke about the man he knows to be his father and the struggles the family is enduring.

Gabriel Roches, Son of Convicted Cop

“Like my mom said, it is hard for all of us…to be honest, financially it is hard and people…when we go out, people think that our life is good. I want to be like you, I wish your mom and dad was my parents. But they don’t know how hard it is to go to school now. Sometimes we don’t even eat. My brother goes to school just with money for the bus. My mom, people would come and give us a little bit of food and my mom and dad wouldn’t even eat. They would just put it up for the five of us if my other sister is there. It is hard for two years struggling so much. I am a missionary, I try to help myself. I tell my mom don’t worry about me. I can work for myself and put myself through school, but I said just worry about my brother and sister. And even with that, we are still struggling. I just want him to come back. He was there for me from I was about two years old. What man takes on a woman with four kids and provide for all of them. He doesn’t treat his daughter special from us; all of us were special to him. he was there for us through thick and thin, through school, everything and I just want him to come back. This is hard.”

My sympathies for the family but Officer Peck should have thought about this possible scenario before he decided to keep so many guns and ammunitions in his possession. As a policeman, he was fully aware of the law. If it was me holding the same ammunitions and guns, I would be in the same position he is in. This Law should be kept without exceptions!!!

Police deal with the criminal element every day of their lives. The criminal element they deal with do not take time off and they do not leave their weapons at home when they go out. Police officers are always on the job even when they are off duty. If we are a victim and we see an officer we would want his protection. If he is unarmed how could he respond in this day and age. Gone are the days of only having a billy club in their pockets.

If we want officers to protect us even when they are off duty they need to always be allowed to cary a weapon but also be charged with the reswponsibility of this priviege.

I say change these antiquated laws and set this man free! By his record (years of service and upstanding) he is the type we need on the streets! He has suffered enough!

    @ oscar965,

Reading Comprehension is very fundamental when trying to understand words; it seems that you misunderstood what you read initially about the charge sheet on Mr. GINO PECK, or you are trying to smear his character. I don’t know you, so I’ll will give you the benefit of the doubt , in that you misunderstood what you read initially. But I must say that based on what you wrote on here, it appears that you are embellishing, or you genuinely believed that Mr.PECK WAS CAUGHT WITH MULTIPLE WEAPONS, WHEN IN FACT THE GSU FOUND EXCESS AMMO THAT HAD DUST ON THEM ON HIS PREMISE/PREMISS. THIS TO ME INDICATE THAT THESE WERE AMMO THAT WAS NOT BEING USED. SO FOR YOU TO SAY THAT HE SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT HIS ACTIONS PRIOR TO BEING ARRESTED, IS LUDICROUS. THE REASON IS THAT HIM BEING A CLEAN, AND LAW ABIDING POLICE OFFICER FOR 22 YRS, ILLUSTRATE THAT HE THOUGHT THAT HE WAS NOT ENGAGING IN ANY WRONG DOING BY KEEPING THE EXTRA AMO, HENCE HE GAVE THE GSU THE RIGHT TO CONDUCT THEIR BUSINESS IN HIS HOME. SO MY ADVISE BEFORE YOU POST SOME SOMETHING IN THE FUTURE, DO SOMETHING CRITICAL WHICH IS TO TRY AN ACERTAIN THE FACTS.
