Murder trial of Bert Vasquez adjourned once again

Bert Vasquez

The lifeless body of thirteen-year-old Jasmine Lowe was discovered in an overgrown area off the Cristo Rey Road after she was reported missing in early June 2012.  In the wake of the gruesome encounter residents of Cayo strongly believe that the teenager was abducted shortly after leaving her father’s home in Santa Elena and murdered sometime thereafter.  They suspect that she met her tragic end at the hands of Bert Vasquez, a Belize City transplant who has since been charged with thirteen offences against female minors in that area.  Vasquez has been on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being picked up by San Ignacio police later that month and charged with Lowe’s murder.  His case, however, has seen a number of adjournments and today when he appeared for a preliminary inquiry in San Ignacio, Prosecutor Jaret Gomez, after consulting with Lowe’s family, requested an adjournment to March twelfth.  Present in court this morning was Jasmine’s father Christopher Lowe, her mother, as well as several relatives and friends who appeared on her behalf as witnesses.

It still brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear this lil ones name. Don’t worry my lil one God does not sleep and one day whoever did it to you will receive his punishment from the most high.

Well, thank God for little favors. The case is adjourned, so back to where u belong, Vazquez. Unfortunately, the time Bert Vasquez is now spending in prison might be the only time he spends there. That’s the law of Belize. In the end, he will get off. He looks like a duck, walks like a duck but because the goal of the country of Belize is to keep murderers on the street, all the Bert Vasquez’s will soon be out there. Mr. Lowe, don’t get discouraged each time the case is adjourned. Remember you are in Belize and the justice system is designed for the murderers to go free. So each time the case is adjourned, that pervert goes back to jail. Give thanks for small favors.

Yes, all murderers go free in Belize, but again where are the eye witnesses?
I honestly do not love Berth Vasques, he was harassing the young girls, hopefully he goes to jail atleast for that.
Circumstantial evidence will fail here in Belize, the ring, the any other item found in his possession cannot stand in the supreme court and say ” I saw this person killing her” or “I saw him kill her”, period. For the murder charge he will walk, sad to say but no one really KNOWS WHO did it, no one.
I wish and hope, honestly that some day that murder will be solved, so we all see and then KNOW the person or …OR PERSONS involved the that murder.
WHAT IF…IF ACTUALLY HE IS NOT THE PERSON WHO DID IT BUT IS ACCUSED? Again, who saw anything?
Now, IF , that is “IF” what was found in his possession was REALLY found in his possession and was NOT planted there , then , only then he knows more that I know about that murder.
