Manager of Temptation Bar hauled to court for employing girls without valid employment permits

Sixty-two-year-old Honduran national Estela Gonzales has been charged for employing persons not in possession of a work permit, following a shakedown of Temptation Hill by immigration officials on Thursday night.  This is the second raid carried out at the establishment, located at mile ten on the George Price Highway.  Under Gonzales’ employ were ten women, including a pregnant Dominican waitresses, who were found to be working without any valid permits.  In court today, the elderly woman appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer where she was charged with ten counts of the aforesaid offence.  Also arraigned were eight Honduran nationals, including twenty-three-year-old Ceidy Garay, twenty-six-year-old Silvia Guzman, thirty-three-year-old Jessica Flores, twenty-nine-year-old Diyanira Reyes, thirty-year-old Rixa Flores, twenty-four-year-old Lesby Sanchez, twenty-four-year-old Suli Flores and twenty-one Teresa Gien, as well as Dominican national Resemeilli Mezon and Guatemalan national Alejandra Mejia.  Gonzalez wasted no time and pleaded guilty to the offences and was charged a thousand dollars on each count.  That’s a total of ten thousand dollars to be paid forthwith or in default six months in prison for each offence.
