Earlier we showed you the grief-stricken family of two murdered men. They have sought assistance and protection from the Office of the Ombudsman because they feel threatened. That’s bad enough, but it gets worse. The family feels that because of the circumstances of the murder of Canadian Brian Townsend, they are now being forced out of the only home they have known in Valley of Peace. On top of everything else that is a massive blow to Martita Requeña. Today she was clearly a woman on the edge.

“Now the people from Valley of Peace they don’t want us to live there. The Chairman of Valley of Peace says he will take us from there. Where will I go? I live in Valley of Peace twenty-five years. I live all my life there. Now only because of this white man the people say that they don’t want us there. I don’t know if that is right for people to take us from where we live. I don’t know if that is right. We need help. I don’t know what I can do. I feel very sad.”

“Yes I hope, I want to bring my son home to bring him behind his brother, but I don’t have money. I don’t have anything to do because I am a poor lady, I am a single lady. I have my children. I don’t know what I can do. I need help. I need protection because I feel along. I feel like everybody wants to kill me. Because right now I’m in the hands of the Police…They do everything that they want. They can go and knock on my door and tell me we are the Police and I have to open the door. They can kill all of us because they are the Police. We can’t close the door; we can’t have something to kill them because they are the Police. I don’t know what I can do.”
The Ombudsman has confirmed that they have gone through Foreign Affairs channels to facilitate the release of the body of Raul Balona and transport to Belize. Just before news tonight we were told that will be done in the morning. Tonight the family is preparing a casket to bring Raul’s body home to Valley of Peace.

Well, Marta and her family misunderstood the name ‘valley of the peace and are trying to turn it into Valley of death. Out with them. Don’t entertain this woman and her crocodile tears. Sorry to say it, but she’s reaping what she sowed. Maybe it’s time for her to go back across the border and take her lawless family home. That’s their home, not Valley of the Peace.
