2 prisoners back in police custody….Jarod Lamb is shot to the leg
Last Friday, we told you about three prisoners who had escaped from police custody. Well tonight, the streets are safer because two of the three have been recaptured. Late this afternoon San Ignacio Police nabbed twenty-five year old Jarob Arthur Lamb in Santa Elena, Cayo. Lamb, an accused murderer, was heading to court when he freed himself from a handcuff and jumped from a moving police van near his home village of Ontario last Tuesday. According to police, just after four p.m., the Santa Elena neighborhood Watch Committee alerted them that Lamb was hiding out in the cemetery. Police headed to the scene where an officer reportedly fired a shot at the prisoner that caught him on the left leg. Lamb was initially transported to the San Ignacio Hospital and is being transferred tonight to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital under police guard.

“It was sometime around four-four-thirty that information was received from members of the community that had been seen by the cemetery in Santa Elena. So as a result of the information received, a team of officers were dispatched to that area, but on arrival, he made out that police were in the area and he started to run from the area. As a result, he was shot about two inches below the left knee causing him to be captured and immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention. At this moment, he has been ferried to K.H.M.H. for medical treatment under police guard.”

“How long has he been on the lam and were there previous accounts of sightings of him within the Santa Elena area?”
Via Phone: Insp. Reymundo Reyes
“Well for today, this would have been the second sighting for today. Earlier around one o’clock or thereabouts, he was seen. But police made checks and it was fruitless. He escaped Thursday morning sometime around nine-thirty in the morning whilst being escorted from the Hattieville Prison to San Ignacio Magistrate Court.”

“What were the charges on which he was arraigned initially?”
Via Phone: Insp. Reymundo Reyes
“That would be for murder, attempt murder, robbery, aggravated burglary and other minor reports that we had about burglaries within town.”
Hmmm… So where is the third guy? Still need to improve!
Neighborhood Watches Work! Just wish the officer would have aimed a bit higher.
