50 sacks of contraband sugar; 3 Guatemalans charged for immigration offenses
A trio of Guatemalan nationals has been charged for immigration offenses after being nabbed by authorities in Toledo attempting to contraband fifty sacks of sugar. Over the weekend, the men were busted by fisheries personnel reportedly traveling inside an unregistered vessel in Belizean waters. They were escorted to Punta Gorda Town where immigration officials later discovered that they entered the country unlawfully. A check with Punta Gorda police has confirmed that the men have subsequently been charged for related offences, however, we could not verify whether they were also arraigned for the uncustomed goods. The unlawful trading of sugar across the northern and western borders is a perennial practice among contrabandists operating in Belize.

Were they bringing in sugar or taking sugar to Guate? if they were taking some Belizean sugar with them who cares?
right….if they are ilegally exporting sugar who cares….care about the revenue the country is making fronm them….
