Man charged for attacking his wife and daughter with hammer
Thirty-five-year-old William Rubio appeared this morning in the court room of Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith where he was slapped with charges for four criminal offenses. Two counts of aggravated assault with a hammer upon his common-law-wife, thirty-year-old Virginia Lopez, and upon his stepdaughter fifteen-year-old Reina Lopez. He was additionally charged with two counts of wounding upon both mother and daughter. In court, he pleaded not guilty to all four charges. Bail was offered to him in the sum of one thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount under the condition that he must move out of the home where the incident occurred. He was told by the court that, as of today, he must reside with his sister in the village of Saint Matthews. He was also ordered not to have any kind of contact with the victims and must report to the Belmopan Police Station every Monday until his case is disposed of. A medico legal form presented showed that Virginia Lopez was seen suffering from a wound to the face and eye, while the minor was seen suffering from swelling to the hands and bleeding from the mouth.
Please please don’t go back to him. He will kill you next time. Don’t give him the chance, be strong and stay strong.
