Kareem Musa, P.U.P. standard-bearer for Caribbean Shores

Kareem Musa

Earlier in the newscast, you heard Attorney Kareem Musa defending five mothers who have been aggrieved by the death of their newborns. Well, Musa also confirmed that he has thrown his hat into the political ring. Musa presented his name for the People’s United Party to contest the Caribbean Shores Division against incumbent, Santiago Castillo. Musa says that he is taking a new approach to politics.

Kareem Musa, Political Aspirant

“The deadline for the submission I believe was the end of March of this year and I was the only candidate to have submitted his name, so there will be no contested convention per say in the Caribbean Shores division and yes I will be contesting the next general elections, god willing.  I am a proud son of Caribbean Shores; I have spent more than half of my life there. All my formative years were in Caribbean Shores and I know a lot of the people in the community already. As you know it is a very large community and I have already began to work; I am currently working in the area three of Caribbean Shores. I worked yesterday in area five and I plan to continue working up to the elections. My campaign will not be just right now up until the convention. I plan to work every day as much as I can and up until the election; whenever that is called. But in terms of what I am bringing to the table, I believe that anybody of integrity. I believe I am a man of integrity; I am a man of compassion and that is something that is lacking in our leaders today.  I think that I can bring a lot to the table in terms of new policy ideas, in terms of bringing back investments—not only local, but foreign direct as well. I believe that I can bring that to the table. I believe I am qualified for the job. I have always admired the residents and the voters of Caribbean Shores. They are a very special constituency primarily because it is an issue based constituency. They don’t vote for red or blue; they vote for the individual. And I believe that I represent a change that the people in Caribbean Shores want to see as their representative in that area—not only for social justice, but for economic justice as well. And I believe that my track record speaks for itself when it comes to fighting for justice for people; fighting for the inequalities that people are facing and that is what I plan to bring to the table.”
