Pulcheria Teul presented with James A. Waight Award
Local environmentalists gathered in Belize City on Thursday night for the presentation of the annual James A. Waight Conservation Award. This year’s recipient is Pulcheria Teul of the Toledo District. Teul is best known for her work with the Southern Alliance for Grassroots Empowerment, SAGE. With Teul at the helm, today SAGE is actively involved in the education and support of communities facing environmental issues such as the extraction of timber. According to the Belize Audubon Society, Teul’s “fierce determination to improve the lives of the people of Toledo by promoting sustainable human development” is at the heart of the James A. Waight Conservation Award. Teul was presented her award by Waight’s grandson, Christopher, during ceremonies at the Radisson Fort George Hotel.
Congratulation to the people’s senator this is a well deserved honor for your endless contribution to the people of Toledo district and to the whole populace of Belize.
