Libertad resident clings to life at K.H.M.H. following chopping incident

On their long ride back to the Belize Central Prison today, the Felix brothers were accompanied by twenty-four year old Joseph West, charged for the chopping of Giovanni Borland. The incident happened at around ten pm Sunday night. The two men got into an argument at Mil Amores Bar located in Libertad. It is reported that West tried to walk away, but was followed by Borland who had a machete. A struggle ensued, and West allegedly managed to take the machete from Borland and chop him in the head. Borland was taken to the Corozal Community Hospital and then transferred to the K.H.M.H. in critical condition. West was charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison. News five has confirmed that contrary to reports that Giovanni Borland died at the K.H.M.H., he is alive, but listed in a very critical condition. His prognosis is grim.
Correct me if I am wrong Mr. West was defending himself, Borland brought the machete to the fight. Looks to me this was a man protecting himself from a machete wielding idiot. Let me see an arrest of the woman in San Pedro for the stabbing of Lorena.
