Beverage company says upgrades to be completed by June
But with a move like this by the company, there must be setbacks. Christelle Wilson spoke of the risks in taking this step.
Christelle Wilson, Internal Legal Counsel & PR Officer, Bowen & Bowen
“It is a risk, yes, but we have to reinvest in our country. As you said, there is more competition. We can’t stand still and have a small production line when the demand is growing. So we actually met and we took this into consideration and said look, do we stay behind and have somebody else come in and produce more products and beat us in the market or do we just have a temporary period where we experience this small shortage, but we increase our line to meet the growing demand. So yes, we are experiencing a little bit backlash from the growing public because they are not getting their beverages, but we look at that as a good sign. They love our products and they want our products, so what we are doing is to actually benefit them and to meet the demands.”
“I know that a company, the bottom line is financing. Have you guys come up with a figure as to how much money you guys are losing at this slow period?”
Christelle Wilson
“We are investing the monies that we have. So that is where we are looking at any cost that we are spending. When it comes to people not buying the products as I mentioned, there are still great sales because all our products are available in the plastic bottles. It is only the glass line that is being upgraded.”
Wilson says that Bowen and Bowen is also investing in a new plastic bottle line that will allow the company to produce more beverages to cater to consumer needs.
and we still can’t import soft drinks? how unfair to consumers
