Justice Samuel Awich’s contract is extended for an additional eight years
In other news from the judiciary, the faces of the current Court of Appeal are expected to remain the same at least for the near future. There is word tonight that government will be extending the contract of Justice Samuel Awich for another eight years. The justice is sixty-seven years of age and will be serving until the age of seventy-five. The other sitting justices are Manuel Sosa, Dennis Morrison and Minette Hafiz Bedran. Justice Douglas Mendez presided at the last sitting of the court of appeal and did not renew his contract.
There has to be a process where the hiring of judges is totally independent of the scum that traditionally governed us, our beloved area reps and cabinet members. It only makes us suspicious of the whole process, especially in lieu of the Telemedia Decision. Is this a routine process or a handsome reward?
Another useless incompetent judge given job just because of the color of his skin he has let over 30 murderers go while sending people to jail for a few sticks of weed and fu thief a piece of cheese.
Those Judges that accept appointment outside the scope of the law should be ashame. They make ruling for and on behalf the UDP party and not the best interest of the people of Belize. They have no honor.
so what is the purpose of having a ton load of Belizean Lawyers……is it that no Belizean Lawyer want the job????
yet the Court(s) system is so behind with backlog of cases….
Well we all know why he rule in favor of the government in the BTL matter
