PM Barrow cashes out in coins
On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Prime Minister Dean Barrow in a defamation suit brought against opinionated attorney Arthur Saldivar for disparaging remarks he reportedly made in 2011. Those comments, made on-air during one of his many talk show calls, are costing Saldivar dearly. Justice Courtney Abel handed down judgment in what is being described as the most significant libel award thus far, despite Saldivar not appearing in court to argue his case. A record sixty-nine thousand dollars in damages is to be paid to the prime minister and his law partner Senior Counsel Rodwell Williams. Over the weekend, constituents from Belize Rural North, where Saldivar aspires to become area representative, managed to raise roughly two thousand dollars in coinage, delivered in two milk cans, towards the settlement.

“The sentiment that has come forward is that people believe that this is representative of an advantage, of an injustice and certainly they don’t want to see me stop the advocacy on their behalf. How is it that Mr. Barrow would want this much money from me when he has his son working at B.T.L. and has not paid for B.T.L. as yet. How he could want sixty-nine thousand dollars from me when his daughter was able to get one point three million dollars in legal fees for a Westerhaven case that was all but won. How could Dean Barrow want sixty-nine thousand dollars from me when so many people are unemployed and he uses taxpayers money to buy chicken and turkey for Christmas to give to his political operatives for Mothers’ Day. They believe that certainly this is rank advantage at a time when nepotism and cronyism is rampant in Belize which are all signs of corruption and certainly it comes under Mr. Barrow’s watch. So they wanted me to give the message to Mr. Barrow that if he comes after me they will stand up with me and certainly they want for me to continue to stand up and I will continue to stand up because Dean Barrow don’t scare me.”

The Legal System is a joke. Lawyers are crooks and the whole process lacks much credibility. The fact that the boss is a beast and a legal crook is there for the naked eye to see. But legal fraternity are masters of playing the system and making fools of us. And that is why they are despised in every country on this planet!
I say drag barrow outta his bed and lock him up for thief this judge was paid he also needs to go to jail . This judge Abel needs to be locked up along with this thieving pm and gov. If unu see I dead tha this pm and gov. Do it.
It would have been nicer if it were a bucket of pennies you delivered to these greedy all for themselves bastards with their out right attack on FREEDOM OF SPEECH. They are using the court to keep folks quiet while they rob the country blind. They don’t want the truth be told. That’s why they keep re-appointing their cronies in the court system to keep with their agenda and not pursue true justice. They can’t convict a soul for murder or any crime, but can upload Barrow’s muzzle on the Belizean people. That’s what they are there for. I blame the BELIZEAN PEOPLE FOR VOTING THEM IN. Barrow and his crowd is 20 times worst than Musa and Fonseca ever was and they are the ones that need to be prosecuted for theft, embezzlement, nepotism, greed, sell out, strong arming, you name it. The first thing the PUP or independents need to do when they get back in is to fire all these justices Starting with DPP Vidal, Cawich and all of them who are just there to uphold Barrow’s agenda and not the Law. Barrow’s way is do as I SAY and not AS I DO!
The shit was funny though. I am still laughing. And the greedy puppies didn’t even look like they flinched. They accepted them coins all the same. Money is money to them I guess. Why wasn’t Barrow sued and prosecuted when he and his gang bangers were attacking members of the opposition, for instance Musa, for defamation of character as well? I guess it is okay when he do it, but not when it is done to him. I tell you this man swear believe he is Fidel or even Adolf Hitler on the Belizean people. Can’t wait to see him fall. In ever other country government officials and workers are jailed for embezzlement and theft, but not in Belize. In Belize they are pardon unless not a part of Barrow’s Gang.
