Former Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding saddened by termination of Professor Bain

The Bain debate continues unabated, with heated arguments for and against the firing of the UWI Professor last week Tuesday. Bain has received tremendous support from many organizations, and today, former Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding chimed in. Writing as a guest columnist in the Gleaner, Golding says that he is saddened at the treatment, not only of Bain but of the Caribbean community. Golding refers repeatedly to what he calls the, “awesome power of the gay rights lobby.” The former Prime Minister states that even when in office, “subtle and sometimes not so subtle pressure was exerted by some foreign governments and agencies to have the buggery provisions removed from our statutes.” Golding calls the new libertarian view of the right to choose dangerous, and ends by stating that, “the gay lobby has successfully positioned its campaign as a human rights issue. If that is what it is, there is virtually no choice in terms of similar behaviour that cannot be justified on similar grounds.” On Tuesday, a protest was held at the main gate of the University of the West Indies on Mona Road in Kingston.

if that nasty life style is accepted by many Governments then having two or more wives should be legal

  2. BT says:

Golding resigned in disgrace after protecting a drug king pin wanted by the USA. He’s hardly a role model for values.

  3. CEO says:

    Pretty ignorant Gerald!

Just the way a Priest would never speak out against the principles and precepts of the church without facing serious repercussions and defrocking don’t expect Bain to do something that was very irresponsible and still keep his post.

If he gay lifestyle is not for you just don’t get involved, don’t support them and speak out against it, but telling outward lies that the rest of the world know is nonsense is unprofessional and he should be punished else the reputation of the university will be called to question.

If he spoke out against it in a factual manner he would still have his job; simple!
