Keyren Tzib’s Bail Petition Postponed Pending Psychiatric Evaluation
Keyren Tzib, on remand for manslaughter, was in Supreme Court this morning for a second appearance in her petition for bail. Last week Friday Justice Troadio Gonzalez had adjourned the matter and requested a psychiatric evaluation of Tzib before making a determination of bail. But the process of that determination has been delayed once again. Today Psychiatric Nurse practitioner Ingrid Claire was on the stand to provide that evaluation, and stated under oath that she has been treating Tzib since 2011. But her testimony was deemed not sufficient in this particular case since she is not a psychiatrist. With that, Justice Gonzalez ordered that Tzib be taken to Belmopan on Wednesday for a session with psychiatrist Richard Rivera, and also issued a subpoena for Rivera to take the stand next week Friday. With that Keyren Tzib was taken back to the Belize Central Prison. Her mother Alice has been present at every court appearance by her daughter, and told News Five that inaccurate reports and all the hype have made a bad situation worse. She asked, today, for compassion and consideration rather than condemnation.
Alice Marie Fries, Mother of Keyren Tzib
“It’s not healthy for my child who is going through her own struggles and rough ordeal and it’s not healthy for us as a family. It’s very traumatic and it will continue to be trauma behind trauma for us as you are seeing and it doesn’t stop because wherever the root of the situation is it’s just where it continues to be. When I say that…instead of aid they just continue to be terrible to us. To this day Coast Guard hasn’t gotten in touch with us. But at the end of every dark tunnel there is a light and Keyren does not stand alone because she has a mom and a stepfather. It’s hard Mike because I have a twelve year old son. For some people this is merely entertainment but for me this is our lives. And you know what it’s just terrible. Some things cannot be stated because it will jeopardize the cases coming up. So we just have to hold out. I promise this entire nation and I’m asking the nation as well to please continue to pray with us because my child is an asset and not a liability. And she has been traumatized and she’s going through an ordeal. I’m asking with all my heart please consider us. She will forever be my daughter, my baby, my girl…and she is my asset.”
Yea she is your baby and all !! But look at what she did to the other Moms baby !
you should have thouht of that before hand and made sure your baby is not that kind of person.
I f parents would think of those things before hand they could prevent a lot of it .
But its easy to just laugh at things the children do and in reallity they should be disiplined
and when i talk about disiplin i dont mean only beatting and all the (F) words…
