Taiwanese Ambassador Speaks on Helicopter Donation
According to Ambassador Ho, the helicopters will be used for emergency evacuations and to crack down on illegal drug trafficking or illegal human trafficking.
Benjamin Ho, Taiwanese Ambassador to Belize
“As you know the relation between our two countries is always so cordial and so close; it grows each year. We cover not only agriculture, aquaculture, high-tech, ICT, even medical cooperation. Now, we even extend to security. These two helicopters are another milestone of our cooperation. But these two helicopters were used by our army before as kind of medication evacuation. These kinds of helicopters are not offense one. So we want to give to your country for two purpose. One is to maintain good social security and number two is for emergency and military rescue. So I think that these two helicopters will help your government to reinforce their capability to monitor or to crack down illegal drug trafficking or illegal human trafficking and also to provide emergency kinds of rescue for medical purpose. So I do believe that your government and people will make best use of these two helicopters.”
Ambassador Ho stressed that the helicopters are not to be used for defense purposes.
At least this country gives Belize things that make sense not like the us who gives balloons and plaques .
