Guatemalan President Releases Inflammatory Statement on Shooting

The release from the Government of Belize does not respond to the bold statement of Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales. News Five has been reliably informed that Prime Minister Dean Barrow and Morales are meeting in New York tonight, where both have gone to sign on to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. We’re assuming that one of the topics for discussion will be what seems to be the mass galvanization of Guatemalan troops. These pictures were posted on the twitter feed of the Guatemalan Ministry of Defense, with the caption, “Guatemalan Marines and Military Engineers prepare to move materials to the Sarstoon Naval Station” and “Peten First Cavalry regiment performs movement pursuant to order from the Commandant of the Army.” President Morales stated in his video that “from now on, we will exert a strict protection exercise over the sovereignty of the Sarstoon River and the entire adjacency line, to ensure that further abuses on the part of the defense forces of Belize against the territory and the Guatemalan population do not occur.” It is safe to say that Guatemala has not been as hostile in recent times in the relations between both countries.

The President said he is sending troops to defend the ENTIRE adjacency zone. Does it mean the Belize side as well?

The worse is yet to come. The likely possibility of a confrontation between GAF and BDF is very high, this will take place either at chiquibul or at sarstoon when GAF stops the BDF if they refuse to ask them permission to travel river. “BELIZE IS AT WAR AND DOES NOT EVEN KNOW IT”. This has been so for some time now but is escalating.

Un mensaje para el Payaso Morales:

Payaso Morales!

    Atentamente,

    guatemalteco, nacionalizado orgullosamente beliceño

    A Message for Clown Morales:

Clown Morales! Yes, you, as*h**e. Stop escalating dangerously what can be solved professionally with the goal towards peace. I know that part of your strategy is to try to satisfy the oligarchy of Guatemala by ordering your military to get aggressive and by firing up the Peten plebeian to enter Belize to illegally satisfy themselves from its natural resources. But what those poor peasants don’t know is that if your plan succeeds, you, by orders of your oligarchy, will put them, the peasants, back to eating sh*t, while your close circle will take full possession of those resources. Now, the other part of your plan is to take attention away from the problems in Guatemala due to your incompetence. You are playing with fire and with innocent lives in both countries, both civil and military lives. Say it ain’t so, as*h**e!

    Sincerely,

    Guatemalan, nationalized Belizean with pride

This military build up is rediculuos! What does Guatemala possibly see in southern Belize that they want? They already have a Caribean coast. This area doesn’t even offer a deep water port for them?
I am an ex pat living in Belize and I’m here to tell you that the Guatemaltacians have been well within Belize for many years raping the Chiquibul National Forest (inside Belize) of its gold that is found in this region.
President Jimmy Morales should be providing for his own people from this region so they don’t feel the need to better themselves by crossing into any neighboring country and steeling from the people of those countries!!!
    Guatemala, get out of Belize!!!
