U.S. Ambassador Says Washington is Watching Immigration Issues in Belize

Also keeping an eye on matters concerning the Special Audit Reports on Immigration and Nationality is the U.S. Government. While he has not read the reports himself, U.S. Ambassador Carlos Moreno today told reporters in Belize City that Washington expects Belmopan to do better.

“That is very concerning to the United States Government, because as part of the U.S. visa process, you know, we rely and we expect that the documentation that is presented to us is legitimate, and if there is any fraud involved in the obtaining of those Belizean documents, that is of very, very great concern to us, because we certainly do not want people entering the United States whose credentials are false in the first instance.”
Ambassador Moreno says the U.S. stands ready to help Belize with investigating the documented allegations.
PLEASE tell me that US taxpayers will not be footing the bill for investigating and cleaning up corruption in Belize!!! Total waste of money, as we all know nothing ever comes of it! Same stuff, different day and players.
