No Reduction in U.S. Visas, Says Embassy

The U.S. Embassy today issued a release in response to an article that surfaced on social media over the weekend to the effect that Caribbean nationals would be exempted from visas to enter the U.S.  All this in the aftermath of an unpopular travel ban imposed by United States President Donald Trump on citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries, including Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia and Libya.  On Friday, Trump signed an executive order prohibiting these citizens from entering the U.S. for ninety days.  He has also suspended the entry of all persons in exile for a period of four months.  The ban on Syrian refugees fleeing the war-torn country is indefinite. The measure has prompted protests across the world by persons who criticize the ban as divisive, illegal, insulting and discriminatory.  Currently visiting from Canada is Lal Khan Malik of the Muslim Community, who opened up about the ban and the resulting chaos.

“Our message to Belizeans is that truth always wins, love always wins.  We repel hatred with love.  We repel falsehood with truth and in the beginning it may be that falsehood is getting the higher edge, but gradually and ultimately it is truth which triumphs and in view of the policies by the new U.S government to bar Muslims entry into the United States, a question was asked to his holiness at the fifth caliph of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at when he recently visited Canada and his holiness replied that if Donald Trump wins as President of the United States he is either not going to implement the policy in the manner he is claiming.  And if he does implement these policies, there would be chaos in the country and there would be chaos in the world and all the efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community is to promote peace throughout the world and particularly in the face of this fear and the backlash against the Muslims in the United States.  We stand with the slogan of love for all, hatred for none.  This slogan that I am sporting, it means that Islam teaches us that we love all creation of God.  Why do we love all creation of God?  [It’s] because we love God and we cannot please God unless we love every human being whom He has created and He has created all human beings equal.”

The Canadian Prime Minister is on record welcoming refugees that are fleeing from persecution, terror and war.
