Guatemalan Ambassador to Belize Returns
Manuel Estuardo Roldan Barillas, Guatemala’s ambassador to Belize, has quietly returned to the country, eleven months after he was recalled for “consultations” with his bosses. It is not clear under what circumstances he has returned, but it could signal a return to normalcy. But we do know that Guatemala has asked the Organization of American States to assist them in re-opening its investigation into the death of fourteen-year-old Julio Rene Alvarado Ruano, after they asked Belize to agree to such. The investigation overseen by James Namby and Patricia Trujillo cleared Belize Defence Force soldiers of involvement in Ruano’s death. But Guatemala out-rightly rejected the results and pulled Roldan from Belize, around the same time as B.D.F. soldier Richard Lambey was shot while on patrol by suspected Guatemalans lurking in the Chiquibul. The embassy remained open in Roldan’s absence. Belize is still awaiting Guatemala’s acquiescence on a Sarstoon protocol that will help stop incidents of harassment of Belizeans by the Guatemalan military along the southern boundary.

Mr. Ambassador, why don’t you better stay in your country indefinitely and permanently. You are not welcomed here in Belize. You are a Persona Non Grata here in Belize
Send him back where he came from!
The fool went away in a rant back to his guateMANTECA people. They all ripped r*ss over there. Now he quietly comes back to take his seat here. All along, we, Belizeans, could care less about their bickering. We have better things to do. I hope the Belize government has not tried to pamper these fools into coming back.
Will they (Guatemalans) open an investigation to find out who killed Conorqui and who shot at the BDF.
