Protesters Not Fazed by National Evangelical Association of Belize

Just before the protest got underway, the National Evangelical Association of Belize offered its support. NEAB went on the offensive to say that Palestinians, funded and backed by terrorists, recently attempted a massive attack on Israel but met firm resistance. According to a NEAB release, Israel warns civilians before making military strikes and its security forces are known to practice a defense which is firm, restrained, compassionate and effective.  The umbrella organization also states that the Belize police have been trained by the Israelis for years. Artist Yasser Musa, who is one of the organizers of the protest, reacted to NEAB’s position.

“The N.T.U.C.B. put out a release yesterday; that is the umbrella organization for all unions, all workers of Belize. They’ve put out a strong release condemning what the government of Israel is doing today. What you are saying is that the evangelical association is in support of the Israeli position. We are in a free society my brother and anybody is free to say as they wish. We obviously have a different view and our view we wanted to be heard today.”
