Baby Grayson Reneau Gets Life Saving Surgery in Cayman Islands
Grayson Reneau is a baby boy who was born with a heart murmur and was expected to outgrow the condition. He didn’t and in a subsequent doctor visit, he was diagnosed with a relatively rare condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, which occurs in about five of every ten thousand births. It is a condition that can cause a number of symptoms including difficulty breathing, limpness and unconsciousness. If it is not treated in infants, the condition can become life threatening. So, for mom Jamie Lord, it was critical for Grayson to do surgery. With the help of Gift of Life Belize, the Health City Cayman Islands agreed to perform the surgery. There, the chief cardiac surgeon discovered that baby Grayson had two holes inside his heart. The doctors performed a number of surgical procedures on the baby who has been doing well and will now be able to live a normal life. It was all documented by Health City Cayman Islands and we share baby Grayson’s heartwarming story as told by his mom and surgeon.
