Prime Minister Dean Barrow Recovering Very Well

On the Belize side, was the PM’s wife, Kim Simplis Barrow and Ambassador Annie Burns. Barrow and Canales discussed a number of issues, including the consultations taking place in Cuba on its constitution. The Prime Minister is not expected back in Belize until after September twenty-first. Today, Acting PM Patrick Faber gave an update on Barrow’s condition.
Patrick Faber, Acting Prime Minister
“The prime minister did his surgery last week Tuesday and by the time we got into cabinet after nine, we were told that the surgery was completed. We were told that he is recovering very well; in fact, as you’ve seen, he entertained a meeting with the Cuban president and so even while he is down, he is still working for Belize and that’s the kind of Prime Minister that we have and that is why I believe the country loves him so much. And so as far as I know, he’s recovering well and every chance we get to communicate, we send those well wishes on behalf of the Belizean people to him and he should recover quite well, especially given those warm wishes that we’ve been receiving for his full recovery.”

Why did not the Prime Minister utilize the terrific health care available in OWN country of Belize?
