“Julietta Cassius, the Ministry’s principal health officer was among the island’s first confirmed covid positive cases in 2020. Nearly one year after her positive diagnosis became the first St. Lucian to receive the Astrazeneca jab. Not everyone is excited about Covid-19 vaccination. At least one recent survey indicates that more than half of the population would like to opt out. The health ministry has since rolled out its own survey to gauge and address the concern the response from local antivaxers and sceptics.”
Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister Allen Chastenet and the island’s first lady also got their vaccinations this week and are encouraging all Saint Lucians to take advantage of the vaccine availability so the community can move towards a more normal life as soon as possible.
