Mayor of Cancun charged for drug trafficking in Mexico

In neighbouring Quintana Roo, the mayor of Cancun has been arrested because of suspicions that he has protected two drug cartels while in office. This has caused fear that there will be more violence from the cartels as the government steps up the anti-drug war. According to the Federal Attorney General’s Office, Gregorio Sanchez will soon answer to drug trafficking and money laundering charges along with Cancun’s police Chief Francisco Velasco, who was arrested a year ago for similar offences. Sanchez is suspected of protecting the Beltran Leyva and Zetas drug cartels. At the time of his arrest Sanchez had taken a leave of absence to run for governor of the bordering state of Quintana Roo. If you recall last month Mario Villanueva, a former Quintana Roo Governor, was extradited to the United States to face charges for shipping hundreds of tons of cocaine through Cancun.
can Belizean POLITICIANS be involved ? I think yes, either directly like in the north (OW & Czl) and indirectly like in the south (Stann Creek).
No one should be an exception to the law, even ministers.
Ministers are suppose to be great examples for their citizens, not add to the crime situation.
