Greilin Carcamo will die without a kidney transplant

This is not the best of economic times and there are two young ladies that are appealing for help for urgent medical treatment.  The first patient is twenty three year old Greilin Carcamo, who urgently needs a kidney transplant.  Carcamo was in the news late last month when she developed complications that prevented her from taking dialysis treatment and required her to a surgical procedure in Guatemala.  She appealed and got the financial help from the public, but last week when Carcamo travelled to Guatemala for the treatment doctors were faced with another setback.  Now the only thing that will save this mother of a four year old daughter is a kidney transplant.  Carcamo says the problem is not in finding the donor, but in locating the money it will cost her to undergo the procedure.  She begs for your help so that she might live to raise her little girl, Nancy, who also did her share of appealing for her mom.

“I mi gone fi di operation weh di doctor mi tell mi I mi have to do, wah catheter weh dehn mi wah put pan my stomach fi dialysis and when I gone dah Guatemala fi do it dehn mi couldn’t do it because dehn can’t find wah good vein fi do it soh dehn only put wah tube pan mi side yah.  Then dah one deh di doctor she ih only wah last mi bout two months because ih all ah my veins deh get dry, like blood noh di circulate.  Soh di doctor she if I could get wah transplant dat would work because dehn she dehn can’t find nowhere else fi put it. Di doctor she dah eighteen thousand dollars US with eight months medication. I mi want beg please mek deh help mi cause I noh want dead lef mi baby.  I want live wah long while with my baby.”
