Also in Jamaica, Harold Crooks spent two months on the run, dared the Jamaican authorities to go after him in Canada “if they could stand the cold”, and when he was found on a cruise ship at the Ocho Rios pier in Jamaica on May twenty-seventh, Crooks donned a life jacket and jumped into the water trying to escape. He was captured, but didn’t show up for his first arraignment on June second because he fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Well today, Crooks finally appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with Carnal Abuse. Crooks admitted to having a brief relationship with a teenage girl, but maintains that there was no sexual contact until after her sixteenth birthday. He added that the sexual relations were consensual and because he knew the consequences of carnal abuse, he applied for a birth certificate to be sure of her age. Crooks was released on bail and his case is adjourned until October twenty-fifth. Before the allegations arose in March, Crooks was the former head of the Island Special Constabulary Force and is the author of the famous Crooks Report, which outlined the flaws in the Belize Police Department and listed recommendations for improvement. GOB has said that his troubles in Jamaica do not affect the work he did in Belize.
I can’t imagine he will go on any sex offenders register. In fact do we even have such a register. “IF” he is found not guilty I imagine he will be allowed to travel to Belize in the future. What I can say to men is no matter how the relationships with your partners turns out, make sure you are the centre of your little girls (and boys) lives. Really, it would stop opportunist like this sort of person from possibly destroying your child’s life. Stop criticising the single mothers who are doing the very best they can in the absence of their fathers.
This horrible, horrible man is out on bail after he raped a young girl, and eluded the police for months.
To commit such an act on a woman or a girl is a wicked thing to do, and he should be castrated before he run off to Canada for good this time.
