Guatemala’s democratic process under threat?
In news from neighboring Guatemala, a report from the Associated Press says that the government took an usual step today when it published a paid ad announcing that the democratic process was under threat. President Alvaro Colom’s government is accusing the opposition party of plotting against it, saying that Guatemala may be heading toward a “break with institutional order equal to what they did in Honduras”, referring to the way President Manuel Zelaya was ousted in a coup last June. The ads claim that businessmen, politicians, mafias and criminals are joining forces to bring down the government. Meanwhile, Congresswoman for the opposition, Nineth Montenegro, conceded that the country has had enough of the violence and drug running, for which Colom has been chided in the past, but she says her party would not permit a coup to be carried out.

And they might use the threat of INVASION of Belize as a smoke screen…
Why do we always keep bringing up this invasion of Belize topic? Its as if though you are wishing for it to happen.
exactly proud belizean
lets hope nothing has to deal with our jewel and even if they have the wish they’ll never succeed we are a proud nation a jewel in central america and we stand unitied as proud Belizeans we are not cowards, nor have fear. let them kill themselves let them bark while we walk. Earl grey might have a view point very interesting but lets be positive, remember everytime they try to take over our jewel something happens to them either a earthquake that scares the wits off them or a hurricane so massive that leaves them asking for mercy of the Almighty.
