Mexico’s ADO ready to drive on Belize Roads
Mexican transportation giant ADO begins its long distance bus runs to Cancun and Merida from Belize City tonight. Although the excursions are part of a marketing research being conducted by the company an official launch remains pending. In the meantime, the runs are being tested to ensure the quality of service that ADO will be offering to commuters that will be making the non-stop journey to both destinations north of the border. Two buses are scheduled to depart from the terminal near East Canal at eight and nine o’clock respectively. According to ADO representatives who were in Belize City today the nightly runs are not intended to compete with any of the local bus lines that operate within the northern zone.
H.E. Mario Velasquez, Mexican Ambassador
“ADO is a Mexican enterprise and they are talking with the authorities of Belize and they are considering the convenience of receiving these Mexican buses that will be coming with tourists that come to Mexico; we will share them with Belize. That is the intension.”
Jose Sanchez
“Do they intend to take passengers from Belize to Chetumal or different parts of Mexico?
H. E. Mario Velazquez
“No that is not the intention. They will come from Cancun, they will come from Merida, some of them will stop in Chetumal, but not for taking passengers to that place. They are not going to do something that others are doing now.”
“Do they intend to build terminals for the buses in Belize?”
H. E. Mario Velazquez
“I’d say that is a possibility, but that depends on conveniences—conveniences of course of the Belizeans.”
Jose Sanchez
“Is there current experiments to see how it will work?”
H. E. Mario Velazquez
“In the next days, they will start with some rides. If they come good, they will continue. If they come good for everybody of course.”
ADO has been operating international runs to Belize transporting tourists in transit from the Mexican province of Quintana Roo to Belize and Guatemala.
ADO PROVIDES QUALITY SERVICE TO COMMUTERS, I CAN SAY THAT BECAUSE THAT’S THE BUS I USUALLY TAKE UPON TRAVELLING TO CANCUN. I LIKE IT PERSONAL.
I saw the ADO Bus picking up passengers in Ranchito Village, Corozal last night Friday 26th, August.
Hey if I had a choice to ride Gilharry’s and the others old, nasty, dirty, dusty, hot, noisy school buses or an ADO with A/C, TV, soft reclining seats, quiet, restrooms, and sober drivers, guess who I will choose.
ADO of course.
Good thing I own a vehicle and can afford to avoid buses all together.
YeaH……. BUILD A TERMINAL……..
.Hope that they have a better rest rooms than the Pound Yard bus terminal………..
Where can i buy tickets? and do they leave 8am or pm?…where do the buses leave from? i’m planning on going to merida in a few days
forgot to mention when I saw ADO picking up passengers it was actually 3AM Saturday morning.
You are a night patrol for real lol. 3 am
This is excellent new! I take trips to Merida and Cancun every year…..and i have always travel on these buses……This will come in handy for the belizean people.
Well…Belize roads will bruk up those busses and soon they will be buckets.
I assume, once we learn how to speak/write English properly first, then our education system can improve, and we will have more educated people, ensuring our roads are kept up to par, so companies such as these, can keep working here in Belize!
Jus so yu know!
Hey apparently we have English teachers with silly comments, the discussion is about the Mexican bus ready to ride Belize roads my friend, not the English subject.
we are planing to fly to cancun then travel on to belize, can somebody tell us what time the bus leaves cancun for belize and visa versa, i need to know real quick so i can know what time to book our flights for.
Please let me have the schedule from Cancun to Belize as I too would like to travel home to Belize
